If you've found your way to the San Antonio Roundup Turnabout information page, congratulations. You've been chosen. Nominated. Volunteered by your HP. Drafted into service. However you'd like to phrase it, your fate may already be sealed.

But don't panic. This isn't a punishment; it's an opportunity.

Turnabout is about to become one of SARU's most beloved fundraising events, designed to challenge us to step outside our comfort zones, rethink how we express ourselves, and maybe discover a side of ourselves that's been waiting patiently for its moment in the spotlight.

If someone nominated you, it's because they see something in you. Maybe confidence. Maybe courage. Maybe a flair for the dramatic. Or maybe they just thought you'd look fabulous in sequins. Regardless, this is your chance to explore a part of yourself you may never have permitted to emerge. A chance to nurture something that may have been tucked away beneath expectations, fear of judgment, or the endless pressure to fit neatly into someone else's idea of who you should be.

The good news? Here, you're safe.

Safe to experiment. Safe to be creative. Safe to be vulnerable. Safe to be unapologetically yourself.

Now for the part your campaign manager would call "the fine print."

Each participant will be responsible for promoting themselves and raising funds for SARU. The more money you raise, the better your chances of taking home the crown.

Because yes, sweetie, this is absolutely a competition.

Should you accept your nomination, we'll do everything reasonably possible to help bring your vision to life. Not sure what your vision is? That's okay. Neither are we half the time.

Fortunately, we'll have artists, performers, drag kings, drag queens, and other experienced troublemakers available to help guide you toward greatness.

Judging will be based on three categories:

1. Fundraising
2. Creativity
3. Performance

Contestants will receive scores in each category, and the highest overall score will earn a custom sash and crown.

And a year's supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics.

Just kidding. Who do you think we are? This is a fundraiser.

What you will receive is something far more valuable: the satisfaction of knowing you were willing to go to extraordinary lengths in support of recovery, community, and a worthy cause.

We deeply appreciate your Honesty, Open-Mindedness, and Willingness in this endeavor, and we cannot wait to see what you bring to the stage.
